New Rolex Releases 2022
It was an exciting day yesterday with news of the latest releases from Rolex, with some interesting pieces being released that have caught the attention of many watch enthusiasts, and for good reason.
In this blog we will go over our top 3 picks from the release.
Rolex Day-Date 40 Yellow Gold
Coming in at number one we have the Rolex Day-Date 40 in yellow gold with the ‘money’ green dial. This watch comes on the widely adored presidential bracelet offering the most premium comfort and style that Rolex has to offer in terms of wearability. The ‘money’ green dial has been highly regarded as a fan favourite since the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona variation has been out and has proven to be a solid return on investment if you got that watch in particular for retail. We can only see the same happening for this Day-Date variation, as popularity for green dials in general has been widespread across several swiss watch brands over the past few years.
Rolex GMT-Master II
At second place we have chosen the Rolex GMT-Master II with the green and black bezel combination and the newly introduced left-side crown. The watch has already got mixed reviews due to the left-side crown, but in general we think this is a good step for the Rolex brand, as offering something different and unique will always go down a treat in the long run. Speculative nicknames have already been introduced such as the ‘Sprite’ and ‘The Green Goblin’ keeping in line with the ‘Pepsi’ and ‘Batman’ themes of the other GMT-Master collection. This is one of those watches that the more you look at it the more you start to appreciate its colour combination and uniqueness, even if it isn’t your cup of tea.
Rolex Platinum Day-Date 40 w/ Fluted Bezel
At number three we have another Day-Date 40, and one that looks familiar at first sight. The platinum Day-Date 40 with the ice blue dial makes a return, but this time with a very fashionable fluted bezel. Now for those of you who are not aware, the platinum Day-Date could not feature the fluted bezel beforehand as it was too difficult to manufacture considering the density of the precious metal. But Rolex being Rolex, have found a way and worked their magic to produce a fluted bezel in 950 platinum with the perfect shine and fluting through an innovative process and outstanding expertise (thank you Rolex)!
We think this is the ultimate Day-Date combination, and at 40mm, people will see your success from a mile away, especially with the new bezel shining away in the daylight.
