Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126508 “Pikachu” 40mm Full Yellow Gold

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126508, known among collectors as the “Pikachu”, is presented in full 18 ct yellow gold, from the 40mm Oyster case through to the matching three piece Oyster bracelet. Its golden dial is paired with bright black chronograph counters and accents, a combination that gives the watch its nickname and sets it apart from the more familiar champagne and green dial versions of the reference. The 18 ct gold applied hour markers and hands carry Rolex’s Chromalight display for clear legibility in low light, while the fixed yellow gold bezel features an engraved tachymetric scale for measuring average speeds of up to 400 units per hour.

Inside is the calibre 4131, Rolex’s latest automatic chronograph movement, offering a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and certified as a Superlative Chronometer with a precision of plus or minus two seconds per day after casing. The movement includes a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, with chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o’clock and small seconds at 6 o’clock. The case is fitted with a Triplock screw down crown and sapphire crystal, providing water resistance to 100 metres, and the bracelet closes with a folding Oysterlock safety clasp featuring the Easylink 5mm comfort extension link.
