F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Ref. T Platinum Bracelet

The F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain "Ruthenium," Calibre 1403, represents the final chapter of Journe's brass-movement era, produced between 2001 and 2005 as a limited series of just 99 numbered pieces. Housed in a 40mm platinum case with a sapphire crystal display back secured by six screws, it stands apart within Journe's history as the last run of the original Tourbillon Souverain reference "T" before the brand introduced the Tourbillon Nouvelle with dead seconds. To mark that closing chapter, both the 18k gold dial and the movement were coated in ruthenium, giving the watch its distinctive dark, gunmetal-toned aesthetic that has made it one of the most coveted early Journe references among collectors.

Mechanically, it's built around the tourbillon with remontoir d'égalité, one of Journe's signature complications and the first tourbillon wristwatch ever to feature a remontoire mechanism, delivering constant, equal force to the tourbillon regulator every second to improve accuracy, alongside a power reserve indicator. The 25-jewel movement runs on a free-sprung balance with four inertia weights and a flat Anachron balance spring with Breguet overcoil, finished with circular stripes on the bridges, Geneva waves on the baseplate, and polished, bevelled screw heads, all visible through the display back. It was originally paired with a brown alligator strap and platinum buckle (with an additional black strap and 18k white gold folding clasp typically included), and as one of only five models chosen for the broader Ruthenium Collection, it's regarded as the bridge between Journe's earliest souscription watches and his later production era.
