F.P. Journe Octa Zodiaque Ref. Z

The Octa Zodiaque was produced between 2004 and 2006 as a limited series of 150 pieces, numbered individually. The case is 40mm platinum with a total height of 10.6mm, paired with a slate grey gold and whitened guilloché silver dial and blued steel hands. The self-winding Calibre 1300 is built on F.P.Journe's Octa base movement, with a brass construction and an unusually long power reserve of 160 ± 12 hours, delivered through bi-directional automatic winding. The balance runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz) with a free-sprung, four-weight balance and flat Anachron hairspring, and the movement carries 28 jewels.

The dial layout references celestial charting, with an outer ring divided into twelve segments that rotates daily to display the month and zodiac sign at 12 o'clock, driven by the large date mechanism. Hours and minutes sit at the centre in blued steel hands, a design following the earlier Octa Divine, with small seconds at 4:30, a power reserve indicator at 7:30, and large date at 11:30. Finishing is to F.P.Journe's high-grade standard, with circular striping on the bridges, a circular-grained baseplate, polished chamfered screw heads, and hand-finished steelwork.
