F.P.Journe Chronomètre Souverain, Réf. CSD UAE Edition

The Chronomètre Souverain Réf. CSD is a 99-piece limited edition, released for the opening of F.P.Journe's Dubai boutique, with a 40mm platinum case and green dial, applied Arabic or Indian numerals in 18ct grey gold, and rhodium steel hands. At 8mm thick, it houses the manually wound Calibre 1304, whose plate and bridges are in 18ct rose gold, a rare choice for a movement typically finished in nickel or brass. The chronometric balance, fitted with four timing weights and a flat Anachron hairspring, beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz), and two parallel barrels give the movement a power reserve of 56 ± 2 hours.

The layout follows traditional marine chronometer proportions, with hours and minutes at the centre and a small seconds subdial positioned at 7:30. Finishing is executed to F.P.Journe's high-end standard, with partially frosted platinum, barleycorn (Grain d'Orge) decoration, polished screw heads, and hand-bevelled edges. The model received the Men's Watch Prize at the 2005 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, and the platinum green-dial Réf. CSD was introduced in 2020.
