The Vacheron Constantin Dual Time 7900V/110A - Better than a Rolex Steel Watch?

The Vacheron Constantin Dual Time 7900V/110A - Better than a Rolex Steel Watch?

In this blog we are going to briefly review the Vacheron Constantin Overseas reference 7900V/110A, a growing piece in the watch industry in terms of popularity. There is a definite argument for the Vacheron Constantin being a better stainless steel than Rolex or AP in terms of function and movement for the money... and it is simply just a more unique and niche piece for the more avid watch collector.

If you are a reader there will be all the important details on the watch below, but if you haven't got the time, make sure to skip to the end of the blog to watch our latest youtube video on this watch.

Movement/Function

The Vacheron Constantin 7900V/110A is powered by the in-house Calibre 5110 DT which provides both AM/PM indicators on the dial for day and night and also a dual-time zone on the sub dial to keep track of a second time zone and your local time. The watch also provides approximately 60 hours of power reserve which is a lot of function for the amount you pay.

Aesthetic

The watch itself is beautiful and unique in many ways, with its cross shaped case that adds a bit of depth, and the black dial contrasted strikingly with the burgundy red on the hand and AM/PM indicator. There is also an open case back to see the movement in all its glory.  The watch also comes with three different bracelets/straps, with the rubber strap, the stainless steel bracelet and the leather calf strap. This makes the watch super-versatile and perfect for slipping under the cuff as its only 12mm thick. It also has a 41mm case size which is perfect for both people with large and small wrists, and it wears smaller than it looks.

Overall...

This watch is great value for money and for anyone looking to expand their horological collection and understanding there is no better way than the Vacheron Constantin. It is the oldest swiss watch manafacturer after all, with over 200 years of history involved. Priced at £31,000 this watch is a no brainer, and if you are looking for something off the beaten path in terms of hype, this is definitely the watch for you.
