Rolex Celebrates 100 years of the 24 hours of the Le Mans
June 1st, 2023 marks a hundred years of the 24 hours of Le Mans. After years of testing human endeavours, technological advancements and incredible performances at Le Mans, Rolex have decided to do something special in the form of marking this historic moment.
Not only have they started the 24 hour countdown of Le Mans with the classic Rolex clock, but they have also manufactured an engraved oyster perpetual Rolex Cosmograph Daytona which will be presented to the winners of the centenary edition of Le Mans 2023.
After a gruelling twice-around-the-clock race, the winners will receive this as a reward to mark one of the most historic Le Mans in history, coincidentally coinciding with the 60th anniversary year of the Rolex Daytona. The Rolex Testimonee and Centenary ambassador Tom Kristensen adds:
"This beautiful trophy symbolizes unity and going into infinity, which sums up this mythical race. Being awarded a Rolex Daytona will be an even more incredible moment this year; it will forever tell the story of this unforgettable race and seeing the unique engraving on the watch will give it extra meaning. The Rolex Daytona and the Le Mans inherently go hand in hand and this is the perfect occasion to celebrate landmark years for both the race and the Rolex Brand, who have been involved with motorsport and Le mans since 2001.
